Bought this on steam and had a wonderful time with the game. Me and my gf used to play together all the time shooting ideas at one another on how to solve each puzzle. A lot of them are pretty simple and some are challenging but never too hard to figure out eventually. Good game 9/10

Thanks, glad you both had fun with the game :)

does this game have a sandbox mode?

(+1)

Hi, indeed at the end of the game there's a special "sandbox" world where you can play around with the mechanics a bit more - you can't place obstacles or move them around, but you have unlimited rails that you can lay out however you want.

oh thats cool!

A demo version so everyone can try if the game works would be great.

can you make a free version but it has less levels

First of all, gratz for your game, really an awesome work.

Second and totally off topic, why publish here and not on any major platform like Steam / Epic ? Wouldn't the reach your game get compensate taxes ? Aspiring game dev here.

Thanks. :)
Railbound was orginally published on Steam and we are working on bringing it to other stores (ie. Epic). For us there is no difference in taxes between the platforms.

GOG?

There are people for whom this could make all the difference.

https://www.gog.com/pl/game/railbound - recently launched there

I thought of myself first, of course ;-)

I had forgotten that Railbound is a Unity game younger than 2015. The last Unity game I know that works on my system is made with Unity 5.1.

But there are probably other gamers who, like me, buy games exclusively at GOG; I buy games using Paysafacard, which is only possible at GOG.

I hadn't seen the game on GOG yet which is probably because I ignore Windows games that cost more than 10 Euros. The probability that Windows games will work for me is not very high and I don't want to give away too much money. I use MX-15 Debian Jessie 32 bit and Wine 1.6.2-20, sometimes Wine 1.8.1.

Not all people are Polish ;-)

1. People don't like DRM

2. You don't actually get that much more reach from Steam and Epic. This isn't the early 2010s where simply publishing on Steam was guaranteed to make an indie game more successful. There is so much on the platforms that many users will simply never see, or outright ignore, a lot of games.

I would prioritize having a linux port over having a mac port.

They are trying to expand his audience not shrink it.

Is it coming for Linux soon?

(+1)(-1)

No plans for native Linux support at the moment, but you can play it via Proton on Steam.

will railbound be coming to the switch?

amazing, thank you!

Looking good!

Thanks! :)

The game reminds me of a similar freeware flash game I played about 15 years ago. Was that also from you?

Nope, but if you find out what it was called we'd be happy to give it a try :)

Very cute game, I’m loving it.

Nice and responsive feel, clear and cute graphics, fun puzzles, excellent theme. Works really well on Mac. I have nothing to fault.

Thanks, glad you enjoy it! :)

Just noticed you are also on Steam, so i'll wait for a sale on that platform  ;)

Be on the lookout for the Winter Sale then :)

(Please correct me if I'm wrong in the case of this game)
Devs and publishers often feel embarrassed to say it, but they would often prefer for people to buy the game on their native platform or on platforms like itch.io, since Steam takes 30% of the revenue and itch.io takes only 10% (by default, but authors can even set it to 0%).

I love Steam's integration with games (workshop, achievements, collectible cards), their platform runs super smooth, and you can have all the games in one place.

If those things are important to you, you should get it on Steam, no shame in that, but if you can give those up to show some extra love for the creator, buying them here is the way to go.

It may not be much extra money for the creator if one person does this, but if all people start doing that, then this may really help them out!

On the other hand of this argument, buying the game on Steam may help the discoverability and trade extra cash for better marketing by Steam recommending this game to more people.

Just FYI, since our first game (Golf Peaks) we've had our cut set to match Steam (30%), so feel free to grab any of our titles where you'll enjoy playing them the most :)
